As this the artist of these 3 pieces, what was your main objective?

My main objection was to take them out of the background, quick select the part that you want a new background to be, and to get the main purpose of each of the pieces.

What tools did we primarily use for this project?

-I primarily used quick selection, pen tool, fill tool, the copy and paste tools, and polygonal lasso tool.

What were some of the challenges you faced during this project?

One of the challenges that I faced during these projects was cropping the people/ background out and making them look perfect.

One of the requirements for the Double Exposure and the Duo-Tone project was to remove the backgrounds of your images. I what tools or techniques did you use to remove it? Were there some tools or techniques that worked better for you than others?

One of the tools I used to get rid of the background was the pen tool and the polygonal lasso tool. I then copied and paste what I had selected and saved that selection, the backspaced to get rid of it. I found this easier because for the other tool (layer mask) I thought it took time to color the picture to get rid of the background. Also, to get every strand of hair was very difficult to get.

What are the advantages of using a Layer Mask to create the effect?

An advantage for the layer mask was that I was able to paint a picture to another picture and doing so I was able to get the Double Exposure effect.

For the Duo-Tone, you had to experiment with mixing Channels and Background colors. Did you try something different with you background like a Gradient?

No, I didn’t use a gradient, what I did was I went to edit, fill and just used a solid color like black, white, and even gray to make the picture pop. Also, I used a galaxy kind of background to make it look like the kid was jumping over it.
